Centrally located in Coles County, the Health Center is a 207-bed not-for-profit regional medical facility. The Health Center and members of its medical staff provide a full range of acute care, extended care and out-patient services to the approximately 175,000 residents of Coles and surrounding counties.

Health center services include a Regional Cancer Center certified by the American College of Surgeons, a Level II Perinatal Health Unit, a 24-hour Emergency Department, a 23-bed hospital-based Skilled Nursing Unit, an Ambulatory Care Department, Critical Care and Monitored Care Units and a 25-bed Regional Psychiatric Center.

The Health Center offers an Occupational Health and Wellness program to benefit local employers in keeping health insurance costs and workers compensation down to a minimum. In May 1990, Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center received the Exemplary Private Sector Involvement Award from the Illinois Council on Vocational Education.

Health Care Education

While health care courses are taught at Eastern Illinois University and Lake Land College, Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center assists by providing a mentoring program in the work place. Students gain valuable experience through daily activities at the Health Center.
