Gary Melvin, Rural King President, cuts the ribbon during their Grand Opening ceremony of the new Rural King in Mattoon. The 196,000 square foot complex has a retail center with same layout as the previous store but is bigger and offers more products. Rural King's Corporate and the company's warehousing operation also relocated to the center. The project is a major one in Mattoon that has added jobs to the community. The Coles Together Enterprise Zone was extended to include the new facility. The business secured 100 percent approval for the expansion project from seven taxing bodies .
